RIO DE JANEIRO Air Max 97 OG Undefeated Nere Scontate , Dec. 18 (Xinhua) -- Brazilian giants Corinthians have signed Colombian forward Stiven Mendonza on a four-year deal, according to local media reports.

The 22-year-old agreed to join the Sao Paulo club from Indian outfit Chennaiyin on Thursday for an undisclosed fee, sports news portal Lancenet reported.

He scored four goals in nine matches during this year's debut season of the Indian Super League before being struck by injury.

Mendonza is the fourth foreign player in Corinthians' squad Air Max TN Scontate , joining Uruguay's Nicolas Lodeiro, Peru's Paolo Guerrero and Paraguay's Oscar Romero.

WINDHOEK， Aug. 4 (Xinhua) -- Namibia will kill 300 wild animals to feed people who are affected by the drought that has left more than 700，000 people without food.

The announcement， made by Environment Minister Pohamba Shifeta Wednesday， comes hard on the heels of new poaching figures of 162 poached rhinos and 80 elephants from 2015 until now.

Shifeta said the plan to kill wild animals is the national parks' contribution to the drought relief efforts.

Although Shifeta said currently they have earmarked 300 animals， his ministry will consult with the Office of the Prime Minister on the final number.

The minister said the animals that have been earmarked are from three game parks owned by the government， which are finding it difficult to cope under the drought.

Small game mostly gemsbok and springbok， Shifeta explained， will be killed.

"We cannot allow our people to go hungry while our animals are also dying due to the drought conditions，" the minister said， adding that the move is part of harvesting sustainability and controlling animal population in the country.

This is not the first time Namibia has culled animals to feed drought-stricken communities after more than 500 were killed in 2013.

LILONGWE， July 31 (Xinhua) -- Malawi President Peter Mutharika Saturday sacked army chief， General Ignacio Maulana， replacing him with his deputy， Lieutenant Griffin Supuni-Phiri， who has since been promoted to the rank of General.

Maulana has since been redeployed to head the country's food reserve agency.

Malawi Secretary to the State and Government， George Mkondiwa， told the local media that Maulana would be responsible for the overall security of food reserves across the country.

Mkondiwa said the redeployment of Maulana was aimed at ensuring maximum security of the food reserves which are currently being restocked to abate the hunger experienced in the country due to poor rain pattern during the past growing season.

Maulana replaced General Henry Odillo whom President Mutharika fired in 2014 upon assuming power.

Meanwhile， commentators have faulted Maulana's redeployment saying security of food reserves could best be handled by any high ranking officer from the Malawi Police Service and not the whole army general.

The new General of the Malawi Defense Force， General Supuni-Phiri takes command of the country's army with immediate effect， according to State and Government Secretary's statement. Enditem

TIANJIN, Dec. 1 (Xinhua) -- Ten people have died after a fire in a residential building in northern China's Tianjin early Friday Air Max TN Nere Scontate , according to local authorities.

Another five suffered minor injuries and have been hospitalized.

The fire broke out on the 38th floor of an apartment building in the city's Hexi District at 4:07 a.m., according to the local fire department.

Traffic controls in the area have been lifted. People believed to be responsible for the fire are being held for further investigation.
